It’s a real shame we can’t give Will (James) and the team more than five stars. From the outset, they showed up on time every single day and went above and beyond to deliver our loft conversion.
As builders, they were exceptional. But beyond that, as people, they were incredible. So, not only Will, but Rick, Tanya and Lossy were a part of our family for 9 weeks. They treat our home like their own, vacuuming and cleaning after every day, having tea parties with my five year old, gave our dogs as much attention as we do, and even saved all the off cuts for our log burner. They even tolerated my wife’s constant skip diving for stuff to ‘salvage’.
Their collective attention to detail was mind blowing, and all their subbies doing electrical (Ben), plumbing, air conditioning , plastering (Josh) and carpentry, along with all the rest of the team helping to turn our dream into a reality far exceeded what we expected from the project.
Will said at the outset that his aim is to disprove the misconception that builders are all cowboys, and boy did he do that in spades.
It became a catchphrase throughout that every little unforeseen problem was met with his unwavering reply of ‘we’ll sort it’. The team at High and Dry will sort whatever problem arrives, with good nature, some mild swearing when they think we can’t hear and an incredible end product. He said that sometimes with a long project that the customer can get sick of having them around. We feel quite differently, we’ll miss having them around, so brilliant that they all are.
They were not the cheapest quote we had. But they represented the most value for money you can possibly get. We can’t wait to have them back for phase 2 and beyond.
Thank you so much. We hope you enjoy the beers.
Love, Ben, Mandy, Jasper and Aubrey.
