Loft Conversion
After a very enthusiastic visit from James to get a quote for a loft conversion we were in no doubt that he was the man for the job.
His team came and conquered!! The 5-6 week estimated completion was reduced to 3 weeks. They worked so so hard and never left for the day without tidying up. I cannot thank them enough for their patience and hard work…..dealing with a difficult space, they have given us a much needed extra bedroom and bathroom, not to mention an awesome amount of storage.
I would not hesitate to recommend James and his team for any construction work……just don’t make it a “dry job” 🤣……regular cups of tea were the least I could do. Thank you again x

Complete Bungalow Renovation
James Wilson and his team carried out a complete renovation and reconfiguration of our bungalow in Scotter, over a period of 6 months. They took the existing building back to a complete shell. Everything went except for the exterior walls. Some interior walls were removed and some new ones put in. Then a new roof, plaster, wood, electrics, plumbing, all internal fittings, windows, and doors.
James had some fantastic ideas of his own which we incorporated into the build and was really able to deliver and improve upon our original design concept. He was unfailingly enthusiastic and took personal responsibility for quality control throughout. I can say that his small team was always hard-working, caring and courteous. They were also happy to change the original plans where we requested and worked closely with my wife and I, at all times.
The end result is a warm and modern home that is bathed in sunlight and which is a pleasure to live in. This was also delivered within the agreed budget.
High and Dry is a company that cares. They will come back and sort out any minor snags which might develop later. I suspect that many builders could not be relied upon to do so and this should really benefit the prospective client’s peace of mind.
Consequently, I am able to recommend High and Dry, without reservation. Good job team and many thanks for all your fantastic work.

House Renovation
Selecting a tradesperson to do work on your property is often a stressful and confusing time. How do you know they will do a good job? Recommendation from those that have had the experience of a trade’s person is probably the best way to make your selection. Choosing James Wilson and his team to carry out a full renovation on our large 3 bed 1914 detached bungalow and convert the loft was the most serendipitous choice we have made in a long time.
This was a substantial re-development project that took almost three and a half months. Having prepared a quotation in 4 days (as promised) James and his team arrived on site on the agreed day at the agreed time. They soon had the project underway and we were to discover that we had made the best choice of trade’s people ever. We were very impressed with James and his team who worked like Trojans; they were quick, professional, and clean and produced a result we are extremely happy with.
James managed all aspects of the project and liaised with the respective other trades (electrician, heating engineer, building regulator and structural engineer). All aspects of the work were under James control and he worked as if the property was his own. James will not tolerate poor workmanship from his workers and on one occasion I noticed they were dismantling some work that had been done the previous day, when I enquired what they said James was not happy with it and we have to redo it for him.
Throughout the whole project, James and his team worked full time, they did not ‘moonlight’ on other jobs and stuck with it to completion. James, conducted himself in a professional and honest manner, he never promised anything he could not deliver and often delivered beyond his promises. His workforce was skilled, professional and meticulous; they were also very friendly and courteous. We would recommend James and his team to you without hesitation.
